Our Club

Rotary on Cuba  (The Rotary Club of Courtenay Place)

The Rotary Club of Courtenay Place is one of more than 50 clubs in the lower North Island that form Rotary District 9940. Active since 1973, membership has been steady but we are now in a growth phase actively seeking and welcoming new members. We have two avenues of membership: contemporary and traditional. The contemporary group is orientated towards men and women who are active in the community or workforce and wish to make a difference through service to those who are in need within our Cuba Street precinct. The traditional group is orientated towards men and women who wish to remain active in the community by raising funds for and providing service to charity.

Recent efforts providing service and support to those who make a difference in our precinct include Drug Arm Wellington, The Soup Kitchen, Mary Potter Hospice and reading assistance to children at Mt Cook School. We also assist with international aid - particularly to the Pacific Islands - with Emergency Relief Kits and we are very supportive of Rotary International's Polio Eradication programme.

Join us!

We are widely recognised as one of Wellington’s most friendly Rotary clubs. Visiting Rotarians, partners, guests and new members are actively welcomed into this friendship circle. Free parking may be available, we have an excellent venue luncheon facility with first class guest speakers and discussion opportunities covering a wide range of topics. Another feature is our active fellowship/friendship group with functions at Wellington's entertainment, such as theatre, musicals - often in collaboration with other Rotary Clubs or associates.
