Last Week's Meeting - Friday 31st October

Title: Understanding and Moving Towards the Sharing Economy
Speaker: Olivier Lacoua, a fellow Rotarian of the Wellington Club

An experienced hospitality teacher, Olivier spoke about today's "Sharing Economy" that has evolved out of technology (smartphones, iPads etc) 

Particularly amongst the younger generations, more people are sharing resources instead of owning them (houses, cars, accommodation etc).

This was truly an eye-opener for most of us and how we can reduce or curb our expenditure into the future.

  • Fireworks - 8th November   
 George has a stock of Glow Sticks to sell at Wellington's evening.

We need you  for 1 or 2 hours only to sell these from 6pm onwards.

  • The Duck Race - 30th November - Only 4 weeks to go… 
What business do you know who will buy and dress up a Rubber Duck in their unique way to promote their business. It's only $200 and it will be a fun day for them and staff. 

President Bryan has 10 posters for everyone, so deliver them those businesses who you feel will buy one - come on, just 1 sale each… please do your part.

  • Christmas Function - Thursday 11th December  
In recognition of the contribution made by the Bay Plaza,  this will be held there this year.

Put in your diary now.

  • Rotary Foundation
Next month is Rotary Foundation Month!

It will be a reminder for those who are not Centurian Club members, please give this serious consideration.

  • Drivers 
The District are looking for people to assist with transporting incoming Rotarians from the airport attending the Rotary Institute and Conference first week of December.
