2013-14 President - George Borthwick

A very big welcome and thanks to incoming President George for taking up the mantle for the upcoming 12 months. He certainly knows what it takes to lead the Club as this is his second time around, having already served a term as President a few years ago. There are many exciting things planned with a few changes also. As usual, we right behind you.

The Club celebrated it's 40th Anniversary at the President's Changeover dinner held at the James Cook Hotel's Whitby Restaurant on Saturday 29th June. It was special for many reasons: Firstly, to warmingly thank the Club's first lady President, Nicky Byrne for her service and dedication over the past 12 months. Secondly, to pass over the chain of office to incoming President George Borthwick. Thirdly, to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of our Club. This included welcoming a special guest, founding member and Past President, John Pudney and his wife. Lastly, to present Len Kenna with Rotary's Sapphire Pin, the first in our Club, for nearly 40 years of service to our Club and the local community. It was a superb evening, including the food, and we are looking forward to another exciting year under the stewardship of George and the Board.
