Last Saturday morning the Rotary Club of Courtenay Place, represented by Arthur Young and David & Mary Egley was included among the V.I.P. visitors to attend the Mt. Cook School hall opening.
A Powhiri brought the group into the new hall where there was a large gathering of students and parents already assembled. Several speeches were made both in Maori and English before the Mayor Celia Wade?Brown cut the bright red ribbon stretching across the new stage. We were entertained by the students with Maori singing and dancing. A large cake had been made especially for the occasion and this was enjoyed by all at the morning tea that followed.
The hall will be a great asset to the school.
